The lawsuit alleges the CVTs create a safety risk to drivers and everyone else on the roads when Altimas suddenly stall while other drivers don't see any brake lights. Drivers allegedly have trouble accelerating the cars while other times drivers experience cars that surge without warning.

A Nissan automatic emergency braking lawsuit alleges the front distance radar sensors can cause the systems to engage even though no obstacles exist. This causes the Nissan vehicles to suddenly slow down or come to complete stops in the middle of normal traffic.

Even rental companies are fed up with Nissan's CVTs. Plaintiff U Can Rent LLC says it purchased nine 2013 Sentras, one 2013 Nissan Juke and four 2014 Nissan Jukes and many started having problems with less than 20,000 miles on them.

Plaintiff Waldo Leyva says he would not have purchased his 2015 Sentra if he would have known about the transmissions, or at the least he wouldn't have paid as much as he did.

The automaker claims the majority of rusted floorboard complaints started occurring 8 to 12 years after the cars were built. Attorneys for Nissan claim all accusations of fraud are false because the plaintiffs can't show Nissan knew the floorboards would rust years after the cars rolled off the assembly lines.
Case Filed
The proposed class-action lawsuit that alleges rust and corrosion can cause the floorboards to rust so severely the occupants can see the road. Additionally, the holes are deceptively dangerous because the interior carpet can hide the rust and corrosion from Altima owners.
